2010’s tour focused on north-central Wisconsin, with Eau Claire as our stop/start point. Over five days, teachers on the tour:
- Visited a dairy farm to meet and talk with milkers in the Puentes/Bridges program
- Learned about the impact of tourism through dialogue with Lac du Flambeau tribal members
- Lunched at Safari, a restaurant and grocery owned and operated by Somali immigrants in Barron
- Attended the first night of the Wisconsin Valley Fair in Wausau, an annual event that connects urban and rural regional residents
- Learned the intricacies of a traditional craft like birchbark basket making from a “Wisconsin Folks” artist
