The 2011 WTLC tour explored the cultural area that lies between Lake Winnebago, Lake Michigan, the waters of Green Bay, and the Fox River. The tour allowed teacher participants to:
- Talk with members of the Oneida Nation about their efforts to sustain traditional arts and agriculture
- Experience the sport of curling with the Green Bay Curling Club
- Visit the Saxon Homestead Creamery and Farm to learn about environmental stewardship on this beautiful fifth-generation farm near the shores of Lake Michigan
- Enjoy a boat excursion with a regional specialist
- Interview residents who spear sturgeon on Lake Winnebago
